The sun-drenched Maltese islands are awaiting you. Welcome from the most scintillating center of culture, history, and beauty under the sun. From the blue lagoons and brightly painted fishing boats to the breathtaking landscapes and megalithic temples. Malta, your destination for entertainment and relaxation, and your host for the Sietar Europa 2022 conference is the place to be this spring. Enjoy St. Julian’s Bay with its exciting casinos, captivating bay views, and luxurious Portomaso Bay with its plush, terraced residences guardingly overlooking its yachts, and super seacrafts that gently enclose the opulent Portomaso Business Tower. Located on the northeast coast of Malta in the northern harbor district is the charming town of Sliema. Alluring and stylish the coastline hosts upscale shops, restaurants, and bars. Around the town, one will notice the unique style of the balconies that are particular to the island. This traditional Maltese style is most prevalent in Sliema. The enclosed balconies are colorfully characteristic of the antique Spanish influence on Maltese architecture from the 1200s to the 1500s. Spain, influenced by its Arabic history transferred this quaint chromatic feature from North Africa, called the Muxrabija, (look out place) to Malta. The sun is dazzling, so wear your shades but as you are walking around, remember to look up to take in these multi-colored extravaganzas.
